Help me choose the photos that will be featured in my next book

August 8th, 2016

If you have followed me for a while, you know that I have authored two photography books.

Well, Iím very excited to announce that Iíve just started working on my third collection!

This project is different from the previous ones. The idea is to mix pictures and inspirational quotes (that I wrote) together.

But before this happens, I need you to help me choose the pictures that will be featured in the collection.

Interview of fellow photographers

June 10th, 2016

Hello everyone,

I recently started a series of features of fellow photographers on my website (http://creativeramblings.com). Every month, I publish a new interview.

So far, I have featured two people:
- Dan Miller: http://creativeramblings.com/interview-photographer-dan-miller/
- Anne Forest: http://creativeramblings.com/interview-photographer-anne-forest

If you are interested in participating, please send me your answers to the following questions at info@socialmediaslant.com ONLY. It's easier for me to work from my inbox.

1) What inspired you to become a photographer? Any particular story?
2) What is your favorite subject to photograph?
2) What makes a good photo?
3) What is the photo you prefer in your portfolio? Why?
4) Any photographer you admire?
5) What piece of advice would you give photographers who are starting with online promotion?
6) Anything else you would like to share?

NB: Attach a head shot and your favorite picture in your collection to your email.

Thank you all for your time!

When the Mind Travels by Cendrine Marrouat

When the Mind Travels by Cendrine Marrouat

Poetry and photography are two powerful art forms. When brought together, they will tell beautiful stories.

"When the Mind Travels: A Poetic Journey into Photography" is a meditation on nature and the human condition through images from several countries, including Canada, Syria, the United States, and France.

Reviews:

"Cendrine Marrouat is one of the most gifted photographers I have ever come across, her images are like visual poems in themselves. As the author of many books Cendrine has shown she is a woman of many talents, but mixing some of her most breathtaking images and contrasting them with a related piece of her poetry is an idea that redefines mixed media art. Gorgeously breathtaking from beginning to end, this is an amazing book you'll reach for again and again just to absorb its awesome artistry." - James Hamel

"Just finished reading and contemplating your book this morning. What a deep, beautiful and insightful book! You have woven in unique and artful ways your gorgeous photography and poetry. For sure, it is a visual and textual book, that I will revisit over time for savouring it like a good Gewurztraminer!" - Rotana Ty

I am featured in The Huffington Post Canada

May 27th, 2016

This month, I was featured in the Huffington Post Canada. That's such an achievement for me!

I am very grateful to David Leonhardt, the author of the article. He did a great job writing about my photography. The pictures he included in the piece are also among my all-time favorites.

Here is an extract below:

"How does somebody from Toulouse even find Manitoba? Cendrine was starting to feel like a professional student, so she knew she needed to shake things up a bit.

'My best friend, a Winnipegger who was in Toulouse for a year at the time, suggested that I give Winnipeg a try. The only thing I knew is that Carol Shields had lived here -- I had studied The Stone Diaries as a sophomore. After my friend had returned to the 'Peg, I flew here and was instantly drawn to the place. I have never looked back since then. I'm the only one in my family to have left Europe.'"
